BUYER TRIGGERS The 10 Psychological Triggers That Convert Leads Into Customers

The mind is the root of every action and reaction in our world. What we do physically is merely the manifestation of what’s going on in our mind. Our actions are extensions of our thoughts. Even when our actions seem to go against our thoughts, they are in fact driven by our subconscious compulsions. Every action and reaction can be traced back to the human psyche.
Customers, consumers or clients are no different. People decide under the influence of psychological triggers. These psychological triggers can be influenced by many factors. While there are dozens of elements that can influence the psyche of an individual, here are the ten most important psychological triggers that convert leads into customers.

1. The Quest for Pleasure

Every human being is drawn towards pleasure and is averse to pain. No one wants to suffer and everyone wants to have a good time. This desire to be pleasured drives people to buy specific products. As a company, marketing professional or salesperson, you need to present your product or service in a manner that will help the lead to imagine some form of pleasure. The product or service could be anything, right from a foot massager to more data in a postpaid plan. Affordability will always be a quintessentially influencing factor but the lead will at least be interested in buying or signing up if pleasure is assured. The worst selling products or the duds in any industry are those that exist without offering any substantial pleasure to its intended customers or users.

Now, pleasure is not always physical or emotional or psychological. It varies from person to person. Pleasure needs to be well defined in the context of the product and given the kind of audience you are targeting. Once you identify the exact the form of pleasure your audience wants, strategize your marketing campaign accordingly. It is not necessary for a materialistic product to lack emotional pleasure and an immaterial service to have no physical pleasure. Smart marketers know how to package their product or service and how to convey the message.

2. The Pursuit of New and Original
People love new stuff. It doesn’t matter what the product is. New clothes, new shoes, a new car, a new house, a new phone, a new laptop, a new set of speakers or it could be a new set of wine glasses. Everything new has a special appeal. It helps if the product is also an original, that is to say it is not the run off the mill stuff that is already aplenty in the stores. The pursuit of new and original can be explained using the proven fascination with novelty. Studies have proved that exposure or anticipation of novelty items increases the secretion of dopamine in the human brain. Hence, it is a neurological trigger.

Let us illustrate this reality using two simple examples. Every smartphone maker and automaker in the world keeps releasing new variants of their existing models. Other than the rare instance, there is hardly any significant change or improvement in the subsequent variants. You can consider everything from an iPhone to a Galaxy, a Volkswagen to a Toyota.

The existing models are repackaged, some specifications are tweaked, some features are upgraded just marginally and there you have a newly manufactured phone or car. This new original product builds anticipation and is satiating for many people.

Had this not existed, people would have turned around and said the phone is two years old or the car is eleven months old. They would look for other phones and cars that have been launched in weeks or a few months leading to their purchase.

How Important is Credibility?

What matters to you in times like these?

I am currently listening to the news and it’s obvious the word “credibility” is an ongoing issue being discussed in the news, around the table, and in the minds and hearts of those who are listening.  No matter what your political views, or affiliation to a party or not, the bottom line for most I believe surrounds the word “credibility.”  While some may argue it’s action that is more important to constituents these days… I personally don’t believe, you can make the claim that no one cares about credibility these days.

I am not about to take a political stand in a public forum, not because of my beliefs, but because I know we each have a right to our own… but what I do care about is constructive leadership, honorable and steadfastness, a level-headedness that embodies the principles we hold dear… I said “we” not me. Yes, you get to define and defend your own principles.

Credibility is “big enough” to stand on it’s own. No other description needed. I would call it a “strong word” or concept that evokes lots of different meanings but most likely all indicating strength. Strength of moral character, strength of trustworthiness, strength in words and deeds. I am not going to attach my previous idealistic beyond reproach or on a pedestal… more like your badge of courage, your ability to learn from mistakes and move forward. That’s what it means for me in this moment.  It seems there is a sharpening of the sword these days. The sword that cuts through distortions, distractions, pandering, cut-throat “me-isms.” At least, I would like to believe so.

Do you have it in your own life, business, endeavors or affiliations? How about your online or offline business? Our reputations do mean something.

Just look around.

We make think the internet has a “short-memory” but I would dare guarantee that it does not.  I am not confusing credibility as the same as never making a mistake. We all have done that, and I have my share for sure.  Even more important than what others may believe about you, what do you know and believe about yourself? Again, this isn’t about perfectionism or idealism, it’s my own personal reflection about what is guiding my own beliefs, thoughts and actions. Most if not all will change, but I hope the attitude and values that guide me the most do not change.

Empowered? What’s Your Definition?

Motivation, Empowerment. What drives you to work harder and smarter when it comes to building Bitcoin?

On today’s hangout we talked about several things related to building our bitcoin business. Both Willie and I talked about empowerment, helping yourself, then helping your team members. Let’s face it. It’s not easy out here on the Internet at times. I often refer to it as the “Wild Wild West.” (Check out our hangout here).

But there are tons of resources and training, virtually all at the click of a mouse or swipe of a screen. So no need to go it alone.

What motivates you to take action? Fear? Pain? Guilt? Whew, just typing those words feel heavy. Now think of Joy, Vision, and Inspiration? Which would you rather be living from?  Personally, I like how the latter feels but I would guess there are lots of times when the stronger motivators have been through fear, pain or guilt. Lots to learn on this journey.

I believe we want to think that our decisions are well thought out, we’re on track, we set our goals, but I think our decisions always come down to this…emotion.

So, what drives you? I know for me, right now…I love bitcoin. I love talking about it, finding ways to make more of it, and I do have ways of using it and spending it. It’s a whole other world. A cryptocurrency world at that. Now, I am getting into ethereum and litecoin.  I use Coinbase as one of my bitcoin wallets. You have to have a place to exchange your currency for cryptocurrency. I tell people to think of it as the “PayPal for Bitcoin.” If you need a wallet, Check out Coinbase.

There’s nothing wrong about asking for help. We invite people all the time to ask questions, skype, email, or whatever helps to help you. Take stock of your own goals. Do you have any related to online marketing? Dream big while starting where you are.  What do you want, do the “what if” game. If money were no object, if I could go anywhere, do anything, what would it be? What and where do you need or want to start?

I know in my own experiences, I tend to want to skip ahead to get to the “good part.” When I was a kid, reading a book, I would read the last few pages first. See, skipping ahead… while it may tell you how the story ends, it sure leaves out a lot of important details in between. So, don’t skip ahead here. Sit down, stop and think about what you really want to do online. Don’t throw away your “dream catcher” just be mindful about what you are really willing to do to EMPOWER yourself.

There are times when I feel like I have one paddle for my boat. It’s useful, but not as effective as two paddles. Balance. Synergy. Leverage. I want my two paddles to work in tandem with everything that I am doing.

I started this blog to talk about email marketing. yes, that is still my goal. There are times however, we need to step back and look at all the pieces. When you know what you want, then apply tunnel vision. Immerse yourself in the project, work on creating positive experiences in your life, even if it’s recognizing that what you consider losses, or no’s… turn into yes’s somewhere down the line.

I say this over and over again. I rarely go through something, anything or everything that doesn’t serve me somewhere down the line. Whether it’s meeting a person, seeing a video, hearing about a book, or putting something into action, it all works to inspire and motivate me. You could say, I AM Empowered.

Here’s a great program to help you with getting payments into your inbox. Yes, it works. The products rolling out will be related to empowerment, positive thinking and how to use your own positivity to make changes in your life for the better. Check out Let’s Multiply.

How does that feel?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help but also do your own due diligence.

That’s it for now.
